Hi all,
I’m away with my wife for a few days but have brought my bike. Can anyone suggest any routes without me having to drive to a bike park/trail centre?
I am riding Betws - y-coed on Monday.
Any routes from the front door a bonus!
Cheers

  • Are you staying in Betws? If so you have the Marin and Penmachno trails on your doorstep.

There's the Sustrans path to Bryncir (carries on along the back lanes to Criccieth) if you fancy something sedate and not gnarly.

Ride to Snowdon Ranger and come back down the telegraph valley to Llanberis? Quite a slog on the road on an MTB but you could get a lift on the Welsh Highland Railway for part of it, but might be quicker to ride there!

There's some routes around Rhyd Ddu and Croesor but likely to be quite swampy at this time of year, and again it's a bit of a trek from Caernarfon.

There used to be some MTB trails at Beddgelert (WHR stops there) but I think they've been closed down now.
