Just read this;

https://cyclingindustry.news/challenge-lists-enve-wheels-as-not-compatible-with-its-clinchers-tyres/

Challenge has issued a warning that its clincher tyres could suffer catastrophic failure if mounted on ENVE rims due to the sharp hooks on SES rims.

Worth a read if you are considering buying either...

    I actually put a a blog piece on my website but edited for fear of defaming ENE. I noted the same thing. There bead hook on SES rim does not conform to any standard and is too sharp for any tyre. Tyres with refinforcement would generally be fine but those without are not.

    Standards exists for a reason. beahooks should be round. look at there cross section for the rim, the bead hook on the SES rim is not round.

    If I was an ENVE owner I would be demanding a refund. There is a reason by I have never offered and refiused to build with ENVE rims. It is obvious to me they are pony.

    It’s a direct response to Enve trying to pin the blame for this on open tubular tyres.

    Challenge appear to be having none of it. How Enve are getting away with charging what they do for their wheels is baffling.

    so sharp rims cause damage to ultra fragile tt/ lightweight tyres? I've never used Enve, but looking at this i'll stick with my existing wheels...
