Just picked up some newish Fulcrum 5 wheels on the ‘bay, and have some Vittoria tan sidewalls sitting here. I’m a sucker for tans so v tempted to stick them on, but haven’t seen many with alloy rims. Thought I’d throw this one to the BR community - yes, or no, get some normal tyres muppet?

For info my bike is a mostly black Wilier so pretty neutral.

Can you add a ‘nobody cares’ option...?

If you've already got them, fit them and see if you like them. Beyond that, I'm with Imposter on this one...

A definite yay - tan sidewalls and alloy rims is the original old school look - the question should be do they go with carbon rims.

  • Was interested to get a feel of general opinion, that’s all guys :) In my case I almost certainly will fit them, perhaps I should’ve been clearer.

I had them with alloy rims and looked great, when they were very big back in the day carbon was something only found in pencils.
Trying to decide if I should put them on my stealth aeroad for the summer, feel it needs some colour - but might look a bit tacky on the all black aeroad.
