£200-£250 wheelset for Cannondale Synapse

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a great new wheelset on a budget of up to £250?

My bike is a 2017 Cannondale Synapse Tiagra alloy with disc brakes.

I use my bike every day for commuting as well as longer weekend rides, so need something durable.

Lightweight alloy is probably best, and hopefully realistic for the budget?

Also, what do I need to watch out for in terms of compatability? I've read a few guides, but it's not so clear. I have a 10 speed and run inner tubes, so feels like most 700c disc compatible clincher tyres will work?

Thanks so much,
FZ

For that price I would look for wheelsets in websites like Merlin cycles or wiggle and chain reaction.. people say good stuff about hunt wheels but you have to go over budget.
Compatibility-wise I guess you've got quick release hubs so look for wheels with that spec, and I'd buy wide internal rims tubeless that gives you more choice if you want to try new stuff.
  • Something like Mavic Aksium UST would probably do
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

The Aksium wheels look good. But isn't UST tubeless?

Either way, the clincher version look on brief for sure. Any more for any more?

    Thanks very much,

Hunt Four season, over your budget but worth the extra.

Shimano R7070 hubs DT Swiss R460 rims would come in on budget. You would have a more reliable wheelset than any of the above so far mentioned. I assume a 2017 synapse use 12mm thru axles.

You can not beat lightweight/cost ratio than these I reckon..
But for me too less spokes for commuting.. but it depends what's the OP commuting looking like..

    Fulcrum racing 5 db ?
Racing 4 db would be good, but they're around £300 although they come with tyres and tubes.

They are good for the money, but need looking after, I'm not that heavy, use them in fine weather yet have had hub failure and they need regular truing to keep running straight.
