Groupset Upgrade - Bottom Bracket Query
Hi all,
I'm looking to make an upgrade to my bike's groupset. My frame currently runs Shimano 600, but I'd like to update with something more modern (Ultegra 6800).
I've noticed that the new bottom bracket's (SM-BBR60 37 x 24) diameter is not quite wide enough to screw into the frame.
My old bottom bracket was a Shimano BB-UN55 36 x 24T and fit fine.
Does anyone know why this is?
Would be good to understand if there's a way to make this BB fit, or if there are alternative BB's that would fit my frame?
Thanks
James

Sounds like you might be trying to fit a BSA bottom bracket into a frame with an Italian bottom bracket shell.
It is explained quite well here:

Measure the shell width of the bike to confirm. If it is 70mm it is Italian and will require an Italian threaded hollowtech 2 bottom bracket to run the Ultegra 6800 crank.0 -
Got it. Yeah it's 70mm. Thanks for your help.0
