Giant Identification

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone can identify this bike:

Says its a Giant Trance, but cant find the model year and frame doesn't seem to match.

    Not sure of the year but 26" wheeled trances haven't been sold for quite a while. I personally think the advert is very poor describing the bike and very overpriced.
    Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

    Thanks for the reply Oxoman, thats fair enough. Looking for a cheap second hand mountain bike for a few trails as only ever had the road bike. Thought around the £300 mark was alright for a second hand fs.

    Looks like a 2007 or earlier model based on that section under the rear-sus on the downtube

    He's right.

    2007 and before had the shock design done differently.

    Amazing what you can do when you just type "Giant trance 20XX" into google image search and just change the XX for various years...

    It does look in good nick despite its age - but based on the lack of description, it would be difficult to get a handle on how decent value it is.

    It looks like it's been 1x updated at the very least, and there could be a whole host of other quality parts added - plus it could have had good fork / shock service history too. But equally, it could just be polished up like the proverbial and hold a host of potential flaws.

    I’d say that it’s from around 2004/2005 as it has rear v brake mounts.
    It’s had a few mods and probably been resprayed.
