Hello all,

Hope you are all well?

I'm looking for some advice. My 11 year old daughter is looking for a new bike for the triathlon season. Half of the triathlon cycle legs are on grass. We had been eyeing up the Luath Pro Series 700 bike, which would do the job perfectly, unforunately much to our disappointment Islabike have pulled the bike from there range.

So my question is.... what bike would you recommend for this seasons triathlon. shes 4'11" tall, inside leg of around 71cm. would prefer the wheels to be 700.

Thanks in advance

I'd have thought at 4ft 11 she's tall enough for a lot of standard ladies bikes now? (in smaller/smallest sizes obviously!)

Might make the search easier for you or harder, not sure!

Ideally a cyclocross bike or similar if shes racing on grass. You can fit slightly bigger tyres on for the damp/wet days. Also easier to sell on when she grows out of it as X is getting quite popular with the kids at the moment

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

The standard Luath is still available - why not just buy that instead?

Yep, she's a little shorter than my better half. Very much tall enough for the smaller women's (or men's!) bikes.

  • No idea if this is the right size for your daughter but what a great reduction and high component level for a child's bike. Normally I'm used to seeing children's bikes stripped down to low end components. Looks an absolutely brilliant bike for that money. There is a part exchange discount and I think a 3x boost with clubcard vouchers plus cashback through topcashback and quidco lots of ways to reduce the price further.
