Giant SLR rear wheel hub

Noticed yesterday that the rear wheel of my Propel has developed a second (much quieter) tinny sounding tick in the hub in between the main click noise from the pawls. It's much higher pitched and not too obvious but want to confirm if it's a sign of a service that might be needed?

The wheels have covered around 2k miles since new.

Small vid of it here: https://vimeo.com/319435401

Thanks!

  • It's a sign of nothing. If you want to service it, then do so, if you want to ignore it, then do so... change of sound means nothing

not a change of sound, but an additional clicking. bit strange how it can click/tick before the pawl hits the teeth unless something has come loose or needs adjusting?

Edited the link to the correct one.
  • It never hurts to service the freehub, it is a useful thing to do

one shop says it sounds like something is likely stuck or has been dislodged and a service would likely fix, the other said it's a 3 pawl system, and wouldn't worry.

I’d seriously struggle to sleep . How can you ride such things with the noise constantly reminding you that something is wrong
