Gore C7 black
Gore C5 light black or blue?

All cheap in the sale so money not important.

Cheap? You could buy five or six or more Agu Martello softshell windstopper jackets from Planet X for those prices...

Dhb has some great kit at a fraction of the cost.
  • At those cheap prices surely you can just buy all 3.
  • He said "cheap in the sale" so am guessing the prices you are looking at is the RRP...not the price he will pay.

For a softshell windstopper "jacket" you can use across a very wide range of conditions (below freezing to high-teens+), albeit without full waterproofing, I'd look at the C7 Pro Zip-off Jersey, which is essentially a light windstopper jacket with zip-off sleeves that turn it into a windproof jersey.

    https://www.gorewear.com/uk/en-uk/gore- ... ng_jerseys

For the very lowest temps, use with a long-sleeved merino base layer; low-to-mid temps use a short sleeve or vest base; for high temps no base layer and/or remove the C7's sleeves. Being Gore Windstopper, it's super breathable, plus the sleeves are pit vented and the sleeve zips can be opened more widely for further cooling. Loads of pockets, with two zipped. Highly flexible bit of kit.

I've had a predecessor of this C7 zip-off, the Oxygen Windstopper SO jacket, for donkey's years, and so long as you're not out in pouring rain for long periods, it can do you for Autumn through til Spring. Being convertible into a short-sleeve jersey, the C7 Zip-off is more flexible still. Dunno what price you can get it for - I paid 150s for it.

    Some combos here for 120s:

I should have said cheap just now. I can get them in the sale with quite large discounts £85 - £115. So relatively cheap. Similar to a full price Planet X (thanks for tip) or DhB ones. I see Planet X is in the sale for £25 just now, but not in my size unfortunately.
  • Thanks RDT, might get that instead :)

check out Assos - I've had my Assos softshell for years and its brilliant. Crash repair set up as good as everything else, build quality, warmth, everything else just as good and far less noncy than Rapha et al.

    Very recommended.
