Anyone used these as an alternative to frame protection patches? Any good?

They will still rub your paint work, heli tape is best way to protect your frame0

OP - I found the rubber wore away after a while and then they fell off. I also binned heli tape a few years ago and run these on all my bikes now. No frame rub at all and they dampen any rattle. They also look cool as well.

I can vouch for the frame protectors, they work a treat0 -
I have used the lifeline ones from wiggle but not to stop cable rub, to stop cable rattles. And they are good at that.
For frame protection the best thing really is the lizard skin patches or equivalent.0 -

I've not seen those before - one over the ones I have (which were £8 for four!) is that they would not require you to disconnect your cables in order to fit them - they're also cheaper. Good find.Wilier Izoard XP0 -
I just use clear Gorilla tape, it's cheap and won't harm paint.0

+1 for the helicopter or gorilla tape.
Even with the rubber stuff if you get grit underneath it will still rub the paint.0 -

Have you used the Lifeline spirals?0 -
I haven't but strangely did order some last week to get free p&p on something. But I can't see how they can't not rub ?0
