Rear end clunking noise

Hi everyone, I have recently bought a Trek Remedy 7 2019 and it rides absolutely great. However I’m finding after doing harsh drops/jumps where I land slightly front wheel first, the impact causes a clunk noise from the rear of the bike. I’ve done a bolt check of the pivots and the rear shock is working perfectly, but there is a bit of play in the dropper post. Would this be the cause of the clunking sound or is there something else I should check? Cheers everyone!

    Check your spokes for tension.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"

Try the same drop with the saddle fully depressed and your 4rse well out of the way, then your weight will not be affecting the play in the post. At least it may eliminate that as a possible cause.
