Mavic Comete Pro UST

Just got a new set of the Comete Pro UST wheels...comes with the Mavic Yksion UST tires. All the videos show how easy it is to remove/install these tires...just like taking off a belt. No way. I thought I was going to break my fingers. Anyone have a similar experience with these and any tips to unmount and mount the tires? I'm afraid I'm going to damage the carbon rim with plastic tire tools. I had to pinch the deflated tire in a vice and pull to the side to unseat the bead.
I think I may have damaged the rim tape as I was gettng some sealant/air leaks at the spoke holes. I'll probably put some gorilla tape on in lieu of the OEM rim tape. That stuff works like gold on my MTB.

You'll need put a fair bit of pressure on the carbon to damage it with plastic tyre levers0

Wait, whut? Mavic UST set the standard that everyone else should follow.
This doesn't sound right.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
Is it not just that carbon wheels are a little deeper (and possibly wider) at the interface with the tyre?0

Must admit that mine went on without problem on Cosmic Pro Carbon.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
My only experience with UST is with a pair of kyruim elites... easiest tyre change I have ever had to do.
The cometes are on my wish list for a new set of deep section - I hope they haven't messed them up!0
