I've recently started to use the Wahoo elements bolt with Strava, so when I get home does the Wahoo link to Strava via WiFi and it's then you can see your ride?

It won't just do it out of the box, you need to link your Wahoo to your Strava account.
Do this through the Settings-My Apps section in Strava, then it will sync automatically as soon as you end the ride.

I've just moved from a Garmin 810 to a Wahoo Bolt and its a breath of fresh air. No more do I have to turn of Garmin Connect/Bluetooth/Garmin or the phone to make it connect and upload the ride to Strava.

It doesn't even need wifi. Once you've got everything set up correctly it can send your ride to Strava from the pub after the ride using normal phone signal

This. I wasn't expecting it to work over the mobile signal as all the instructions talk about using wifi, but more often than not I will stop my ride outside the pub and by the time I have sat down with a pint the Strava ride is ready to view. I do not have any wifi access in this pub or nearby. This works around 80% of the time - occasionally it doesn't do it. Obviously this requires that you have your phone with you and it is connected to the ELEMNT/Bolt by Bluetooth.

Another tip - the ELEMENT/Bolt will only sync routes over wifi - once or twice I have gone out and the new route I want to start (prepared in Strava) has not made it to the Bolt. I simply set my phone as a mobile hotspot, connect the Bolt to the phone by wifi and bam, it syncs all Strava content (routes, favourite segments etc) in seconds (needs a decent 3G/4G signal). Once synced, turn off the hotspot, revert to a Bluetooth connection between the two and off you go.

I fairly sure that I have synced routes to my Elemnt via BT.

I have tried and failed. I didn’t expect to succeed but tried anyway.

I have too. Sometimes it can be a long process so it's worth making sure your Elemnt Bolt is synchronised before leaving home.

Over the weekend my Samsung S7 gave up the will to turn on. I think it is bricked.

I went out for a ride yesterday with no phone (quite liberating) and no pre-determined route. Hit "Start" on the Wahoo and logged the ride. Got back and hit "End".

By the time I had a cup of tea in my hands the ride was on Strava. The only device the Wahoo was paired with on bluetooth was the now dead S7 so the ride was logged via wi-fi to the home router.

Basically that has confirmed that the Wahoo Elemnt will communicate with the rest of the world via BT and wi-fi.
