Recommended Packable Windproof Jackets

I've got an issue with waterproof jackets, same as in bike radar's recent article here https://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/waterproof-jackets-suck-53367/#disqus_thread
Has anyone got any recommendations of a packable windproof shell? Breathability & protecting from a bit of rainier top priorities. I've tried some really well reviewed waterproofs but still end up boiling in the bag, I haven't got the budget for Shakedry or similar.

Haven't tried one but the La Passione windproof jackets look decent.

Cheers Mr B, they do look really nice. A tad more than I was hoping to spend but definitely one to keep in mind.0

I got a Sportful Hotpack 5 for £30 at Wiggle - up there with the best tiny emergency windproofs and a great price. Sigma have the v6 for £40 though I don't think there is much difference between them.0

Can recommend the Montane Featherlite pertex jackets/smocks - often on sale as well.Luke0

Have you tried the Endura race cape (FS260) very packable, breathable and waterproof in most conditions I’ve ridden in. Tend to be around£40/£60 depending on offers, I just searched and found the translucent white one for £40, the green one for a bit more0

Haven’t tried the Endura racecape, heard a few folks say it can get a bit boil in the bag on hard efforts if you run hot which I tend to.
Hotpack gilet makes me too hot, so avoiding the long sleeve version.0 -
The Endura one is pretty good - and great for the price. Never had an issue with it being boil in the bag on any occasion when I've worn it in preference to just getting a bit wet.0

I think the Endura Race cape is hard to beat for the money, taped seams as well.0

Thanks guys, sounds like I need to have a good look at the Endura Racecape then, should trust Endura really, the bits of their kit I've got have always hit the mark.
I'm looking for something more cycling specific than some of the suggestions, something fitted that I can take off on the move as well would be handy, I'd stop to put on in all but perfect conditions.0 -
I think I've got it down to a shortlist below, any feedback to add anything to the list would be gratefully received & any first hand experience of any on the list even more so;

Granted they are VERY expensive brand new, perhaps if you could find a USED Arc'teryx Goretex jacket?

Based on my experience, you can find one in excellent used condition as I have and it'll be the last shell you ever buy, packable and extremely tough!0 -
Keep an eye out for discounts on shakedry when the new versions come out. They are pricey but fantastic bit of kit0
