By heck that was chilly this morning!
-5C was the lowest I had through my commute, I guess further North than leafy Warwickshire (views were fantastic with virgin frost coated fields and hedgerows) was chillier while London a little less inclement as is it's want!
Need to get some new knee warmers I think.

You're brave! Since having a bad off on an icy road a few years back, I stay off the bike when it gets really cold and run instead.0

Slightly less inclement, still got a -4 degree reading going through Richmond Park this morning.0

-5c on the pre-school ride this morning ... little Slowbike did well in his ski-jacket ... it's all off-road - no ice.0

I had -6c just before 9am in Northants. The heavy frost on the fields and hedgerows looked lovely.
Once it gets below zero with hard wind chill I fit the Schwalbe winter studded tyres. Possibly overkill some days but better safe than sorry.0 -
hit a -7 *G (G=Garmin, a fudge factor on Celcuis ) this morning, Very , very glad I was on the spiked tyres, loads of sheet ice around too, even in the cycle lanes on the route 1 gritted routes in south Hampshire.Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

I have a front wheel pre-fitted with an ice spiker - makes it very easy to fit (well I have to reposition the disk calipers but that is a 1 minute job). Not quite clearance at the rear for same width tyre.
Very confidence boosting, I'm sure it makes me significantly slower though. Goldilocked the clothing as well, minimum of 4.4 on the way in.FCN 9 || FCN 50 -
I had -6°C when I first went out. I had to wait en extra 30s or so for the heated windscreen to clear and seat heaters to warm up. Luckily the heated steering wheel is almost instantaneous.
Oh wait, I think I might be in the wrong thread.Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff

I'm getting posts on Faecesbook from friends in Australia and Canada complaining about temperatures in the high 30s to mid 40s, the difference being the Canadians have a minus sign in front of their numbers. All makes our weather seem rather tame.0

-14 over the hill in Braemar but a mere -8 on my ride (as recorded by the nearest wunderground station).
Fairly sure it was significantly colder than that in one hollow though.0 -
Garmin showed minus 8 so it was -5. That was cold ride to work. Still it could be worse we could live in North Dakota. Thankfully we don't.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

-3 to -4 but it was ok, my route is 90% main road,so bus routes/passes schools etc so plenty of gritting (though yeah bad news for the bike) and lots of traffic to spread it in, and also bathed in a eastern rising sun, so it was absolutely fine, even though weirdly it felt colder on the way home when it was supposedly 6 degrees warmer, but it was the final 10% on shared cycle paths that were scary as hell, so I walked the bike in those bits, but you just think hold on thats not right surely.
but I mean theres no way Id have done a weekend ride in those temps because Id know Id be hitting those non gritted low traffic roads instead and it would be stupid.
it just disappointed me apart from a few notable exceptions who obviously understood the conditions, I was still getting close passed, cut up, as if it was a mid summers day0 -
Contemplating taking my Pashley for my commute to work tomorrow. Forecast -2 on set off0

... and today didn't quite make it to double figures, -9.4° was as far as it went. Once again the hollow at the lowest point in Strathmore felt significantly colder.0

and today I'm the only one in the office; a little bit of snow and the 4 wheel brigade stay at home.0

Donned my Shimano S7000R overshoes today as my ankles suffered on Thursday's ride home from collecting snow. Stayed on the roads all the way today as the SUP I use wasn't clear. Left to come home tonight and overheated cause it was warmer than dinnertime when I rode into work. Taking the Specialised Defrosters for a ride to work tomorrow.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

This was how cold it was on the way to work Thursday dinnertime
