CX bike on a turbo trainer

I have put my road bike in for a service and started using my CX bike on the trainer but the skewer doesn’t hold the bike on a tacx smart direct driver trainer so when I get out the saddle to sprint the bike lifts out of the quick release skewer

Do I need a different skewer for the CX bike as I was just using the one that I use on the bike.

Thanks

Are the dropouts the same width apart? If the road bike is rim brake (with 130mm spacing) and the CX bike has discs (135mm spacing if you're using QR), then it's going to need different adaptors.

Yes road bike is rim and CX is disc

Haha think I have it fixed as I checked all the QR’s I have
  • Sorry to ask, is the road bike In for or a service or in to get the rear derailleur sorted? I hope it’s not been too expensive.
