Wahoo Elemnt Route Sharing

Imagine the scenario which happened to me and a few friends recently. We met up for a ride and were discussing where to ride to. I had a route in my Elemnt which earlier I'd planned using Ride with GPS on my PC at home. I suggested we do this route but was unable to work out how to share it with my friends in that situation (being away from the PC). I did try sharing from the RWGPS app on my phone but that didn't work. It would have been good for my fellow riders to have been able to put the route on their own Wahoo devices rather than have me just leading and having to tell everyone the turns as we went. Is there a way in which a route can be shared in this situation?

Don't think so, and I can't think of a way around it without using a PC to get the route on e.g. Strava or RWGPS first.
But shouting directions really isn't much of a hardship.0 -
Its possible with a paid account to RWGPS. You select the route and email the link to your mates, they then have to send it to their device via the app, but it needs a paid account.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0

I'm in Tenerife now. We are riding routes sent by email and loaded via RWGPS without a paid account.
You have to do the following.
Share the link for the route from the browser on your phone (email)
You friend then loads that into his browser DON'T use the RWGPS app for this.
He then copies to "My routes" (under the More menu)
The route will appear in the Wahoo app assuming he has linked to RWGPS.
It works, I've just done it to test it while posting this.0 -

Yes, did forget about just opening the RWGPS web site on the phone browser rather than the app.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
I have a Wahoo elemnt bolt and I am finding the RWGPS android app to be very limited functionality for searching, copying, sharing routes (I'm on a free account, not tried a paid RWGPS account).
The RWGPS website (again free account) allows a much wider range of searching, copying route stuff to be done than the app. I can only guess to encourage a paid account to unlock proper android app functionality ?
Love the Wahoo bolt though to be fair.0 -

Thanks for that. Will try it out soon. It sounds a bit longwinded when you compare it with the normally straightforward and intuitive features of the Elemnt but hey if it saves forking out for a paid RWGPS subscription then great.Luke0 -

Just to add to this. I've been experimenting with this today and it's also possible to do this by sharing the route via WhatsApp in place of email.Luke0
