    If I was studying for a PhD in Shimano reading that might have been time well spent,but I am not.

    The sarcasm is probably unnecessary... and as someone commented, a table would help.

    Having followed all these product introductions over the years I quite enjoyed that.

    Bugger all use if you're trying to work out if component A works with component B, but Shimano helpfully produce compatibility tables for that.
