Hi,
I'm due to go on a 3 week tour in northern Spain. We are planning to do some riding off on tracks etc and i'd want to use the bike for commuting after.
I'd thought a cyclocross bike might be a good answer as (please forgive my poor knowledge of bikes - this is just what i'd read on the internet) it has a more relaxed geometry.
I was looking at the merida cyclocross 300 as I can get it currently for £750 + cycle to work discount. Is this a good idea? Advice welcomed.
If anyone could suggest a good alternative under £1000 that would be great. (ideally with Halfords/tredz/cycle republic to get cycle to work), if not then a really good discount. Essentially want a decently fast bike that will put up with some light touring (presumable this will be aluminium with possibly a carbon fork - i assumed a cyclocross one would be tough enough)
Thanks for the help!
