Edco Wheels - Thoughts?

Alright guys,
In the market for some deep section clinchers and there are a set of Edco Gesero 65MM deep on Sigma for £999 (reduced from £2199?). These look the part and have supposedly decent pedigree having been raced by a couple teams. My only issue is the lack of review and public critique of them. Searches don't turn up alot and I can't find too much independent info on the wheels. They look at a steal at £999 but wonder if it looks too good.
Has anyone ridden a set of EDCOs before? I'd welcome any opinions, equally any alternatives I could be looking at in the sub £1k region. I did spy the SpinOnThese wheels made by Drew Gill but these appeared a better deal - so also keen for any opinion on that side of things.
Many thanks
Dave

My friend used to import them so lots of my club have them. All are pleased with theirs.
Swiss made; the model you're looking at are deep at a reasonable weight and a modern wide (though not super wide) profile. Have a clever hub that means you can use Campag or Shimano cassettes, which if nothing else, helps if you ever need to sell on. Definitely a premium brand - so £1000 is a pretty decent price.0 -
Have a look at Hunt wheels. Chinese built, but very well put together, and customer service is superb. 50mm deep, wide carbon clinchers. Plenty of online reviews rave about them, and from personal experience I can recommend them.

Not a bad deal considering they also come with a free pair of Conti GP4000's...0

With respect to Hunts.. Edco are a different league.
Hunts are decent enough wheels but they are basically generic Chinese rims and generic hubs with nice logos and a UK warranty.
Edco is a premium brand that has does its own R&D and has its own moulds and fancy multi sys hubs you won't get elsewhere.
I'm not sure I'd want to pay twice as much as Hunts if the Edcos were at RRP. But at the same price it's an absolute no brainer. Especially when you factor in the bags and GP4000S2s.
Even if functionally there was little in it, the Edcos would hold value far better.0 -
I’ve been running edcos for a while now. Love my geseros, deep, fast and deal with crosswinds better than my 303s did. A few years ago there were some issues with them but seem to be all sorted now, very few warranty issues and if there are problems the uk support is top rate.0
