Anyone out there with the new giant defy advanced 1 2019. I picked mines up today. If you have what upgrades do you have planned and what do you think about the bike so far. I have a knee injury at the moment so no riding.

  • I've a Defy Advanced Pro 2019 which I picked up mid December and have managed about 600 miles on it so far - love it!!

Have a modified bracket to take my 1600 lumen light underneath the bars and a 3D printed pump bracket for the seat post. Also tweaked the Garmin up front mount to take my Wahoo Emelnt Bolt. That's it so far - just enjoying riding it!!

I bought a 3d printed insert to fit my wahoo, then read about modifying the Garmin insert mount to fit wahoo.

What’s the maximum number/ height of spacers under the stem recommended by Giant? Looks like an awful lot in that picture...

I just spat coffee on my keyboard when I read that...

That is as it came - nothing added (and remained following my bike fit). Nice and comfortable.

The tweak isn't perfect as it can be a little loose, but works well enough. Also there are proper adapters for around £5, although they are the two bolt fitting which doesn't fit the one that came with my defy (o course I could drill two holes in it to match and might do so).

Think I paid about £11, the insert is red though so will be faster
