The crash-test dummy didn't come out of this too well, but at least his ribs are ok.

Wish I could remember what it was. A cycling product that could improve my memory would be good.

same principle as the Dainese job as used by Moto GP and the roads lads.

Can't believe the dummy wasn't wearing a helmet...

But that airvest thing protected the ribs, collar bone (from frontal impact impact) and the spine.

Nothing to do with head there.

What I mean is that surely most impacts that it will give valuable protection in will also include a head impact.

Why not have the set? I dont know if the two would be compatible (more looking at the collar on both which appear to share the same space)

yes. and their head will be protected by a helmet like the demonstrator dude is wearing. they aren't claiming its head protection.

if it weighed basically the same as a normal gilet and was a different colour i'd wear it.

Anything tech related that Will.I.Am has "designed"

    for example:

I know they aren't technically inventions but they deserve a mention!

The reviews are hilarious. Really made me laugh. That cuff thing looks like something from Blake's 7.

I was saying that the helmets we all wear don't provide as much protection as this invention does.

But if it weighed the same as a normal gilet, I'd probably wear it too. Being hit by a car really hurts.

I doubt that, given it's got a fairly sizeable CO2 canister contained within.

It does work. I have in the past used wool off a fence , tangled in the straps around my ears to reduce wind-noise so I could hear conversation . sometimes the noise is made in the helmet straps.

The opposite effect is obtained by those perforations at the ear covers of some skull-caps which make so much noise you can hear nothing else.

Sheep are odd creatures. Many is the time I've cycled past and seen them vigorously scratching their arses on a fencepost.

Another positive effect of using this wool is you get to know who your true friends are.
