2018 Specialized Roubaix - Rear Through Axle
I just can't get the 'knack' of refitting the rear axle on my Spec' Roubaix.
The axle is threaded at one end, and you tighten the axle with a hex wrench.
The problem that I have, is getting the axle to start screwing into the frame on the drive side.
Anybody have any similar problems, and/or tips to overcome this problem?

I've got the 2018 Comp and the thru-axle has a lever like piece that looks a bit like a quick-release which you use to tighten it, so no need to use a hex wrench.... so really easy to do. Sorry I know that doesn't really help you.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Try this. Push the axle up to the threaded hole to locate it. Turn the axle backwards (anti-clockwise) until you feel the tiniest of clicks. This means the starting points of the two threads have just passed each other. Now gently turn clockwise. The threads should engage immediately. If not, repeat the process. This is a good way to deal with fine threads.0

Lift the weight off the wheel with one hand and press the axle inwards as you turn it with the other hand. It has worked for me.0

I don't have a Roubaix, but I have a similar issue sometimes on my Oltre XR3 Disc. Sometimes the rear through-axle just refuses to screw in. Will give the suggestions here a go I think as it sounds like I just don't have the knack for it!0
