This is a long shot, but has anyone here ever had a copy of "Cox's Rural Rides: 36 tours in the

I just bought a copy from Amazon Marketplace, and there is something odd about it. There appear to be quite a few pages missing from the back of the book, only on close examination there is no evidence of any pages having been removed, and no gap in the spine indicating any missing. I'm wondering if this an anomaly with this particular copy or are they all like that?

I haven't got the book but here is some info about it, it's meant to have 272 pages:

Yeah, thanks, I saw that somewhere else. I didn't know if this was an error that affected all copies. I've already got onto the seller about it - it was them I bought it from in fact.

LOL awesome don't send that one back bungle its a rare version of the book only a few were made in that edition and most of those were destroyed. Even a dogeared version is worth quite a bit.

I was going to ask if the seller used Royal Mail. But I won't.

    No Seriously Bungle.

It was originally called the retard edition because it kept things back and also kept halfwits at home scratching their heads thus making the roads safer and more enjoyable for other cyclists and Jeremy Clarkson.

Apparently that wasn't PC so the publisher has been collecting what few copies remain to be destroyed. It's quite a celebrity book in discrimination and social science circles, almost beating the lazy black jumbo books to top of the must tut reads.

if you PM me i'd be keen to see if I can buy it from you.

I have been itching to read that book. I doubt many have a copy. Anything non PC is right up my street.

Oh yes - Lions, Tigers, Leopards*, a smart new suit, pancakes and Ghee.

*There's none of them in the home counties.

Great stories - I have the all 3 including the one about Mingo. She was dodgy but the paraffin in the Croc got her in the end.

Ah I haven’t seen the one with Mingo, she sounds a rum sort.

Have you counted how many tours are in it ?
  • Does it show locations of drink stops as I believe the south east has no where to get any water when out and about. Don't forget to tell your mum what's in the parcel when she posts it for you.
