What happened to bib-tights with foot loops?

I'm after some new bib-tights and was keen to get foot loops to stop them riding up. I've got some otherwise pretty nice Bontrager ones but it really annoys me that they seem shorter than when I bought them! They've got zips at the bottom which seems to be the case with 99% these days. What was so wrong with foot loops?
Any good deals out there on one's with loops?
And when I was a lad all bikes had gear shifters on the down tube - what was so wrong with those.....

Good call on the Lusso. On the Pactimo and Morvelo, I'd prefer a "mainstream" brand so there's a chance of trying them on before buying.
Funnily enough, the Road.cc review of one of the Lusso bibs slags them off purely for having foot loops!
"These bib tights have foot straps, presumably to stop them riding up. I found them a nuisance, and they felt uncomfortable in my cycling shoes while riding. The tights were just fine with the footstraps not wrapped under my feet, though they still get in the way when putting the bib tights on. Some might like them, but I think they're unnecessary"

The Lusso Termico Repel get a big thumbs up from me. My go to winter tights. Warm, comfortable and very good quality.0

Thanks for the input. On "practicalities", I note there's no zip at the front. How are they for comfort breaks?0 -
Paid a few quid less than current price during a promo, but https://www.merlincycles.com/funkier-po ... 05422.html have foot loops, kept my legs warm on my first outdoor ride of the year, couple of hours in the fairly chilly temps on Thurs afternoon up around Beacon Hill above Exton.================

They're fine. Quite low cut over the belly. Easy to take a toilet break.0
