    Just to add to this

    I've just gone clipless and my set up was £60. Shimano M230 which are great because you get a big pedal with clips in middle so if you miss clipping in you can still pedal away. They was £23 and then some Shimano MTB shoes from Halfords were £30. So £53 all in all. And with MTB shoes you can pretty much walk normally. And layer down the line you could get some smart looking MTB shoes that wouldn't look out of place in the coffee shop or pub.
