Happy New Year everyone!

I am looking to replace my fork, and the fork must be able to fit HED Belgium+ rims (25mm) and 25mm Vittoria Corsa G+ tires. I can get a pretty good deal on a Ritchey Comp carbon fork, but before I pull the trigger, I wanted to see if anyone had clearance issues with this fork. Do you think my wheels will fit?

  • Or can anyone recommend a good carbon fork with lots of tire clearance? I know the enve 2.0 is a popular one, but it is a little out of my price range.

If the rake etc is right PX Pro Carbon have plenty clearance and are cheap as can be.

Clearance will also depend on how wide your rims are - wide rims make tyres wider when mounted.

I've bought a couple of forks from bikesport benner and have been very satisfied with speed of delivery, price and accuracy of quoted weights - https://www.bikesportparts.de/gabeln/rennradgabeln/

Most will accommodate 25mm tyres without issue but as mentioned, rim width complicates the issue.

Oh, and I meant to say, have you established if you need a straight or tapered steerer? Straight steerer forks are easy to find cheap, as above, tapered not so much.

I have HED Ardennes + and running with 25mm Conti 4ks caused me clearance issues on my old Cannondale.

On a build project this time last year I was trying to get info on forks that would definitely give me clearance and it was proving quite difficult.
Like you I didn't want to splash out on ENVE 2.0's. I eventually bit the bullet though as I knew they would accommodate the wheel/ tire combo.
I have not been disappointed as they are lovely and would probably take 28mm tires? Are pricey tho
  • Thanks for the replies everyone!

Well I just contacted Ritchey asking if they could confirm the clearance, and they don't think it should be an issue to fit wide rims (Hed Belgium+) and 25mm tires.

Attached is a diagram of the fork:

Since it's half the price of an Enve 2 fork, I think I will try it out and see if it fits. I will report back my findings.
  • just wanted to archive this in case anyone was interested, but yes, they fit!

I am running HED Belgium plus rims with 25mm Corsa G plus tires on the Ritchey Comp Carbon fork. A few mm on each side to spare. 28mm would be real tight, but looks possible... For now I'll stick with 25's
