That is nothing more than a corporate cash in on an event and has nowt to do with any rider, team or indeed any actual cycling history.

    Fools and money...

    “A piece of cycling history”
"The mother of all cycling jerseys" and who stores jerseys in airtight bags in the dark?

If there were 3 available I might be interested.

I dare you to hit ‘buy it now’.

Perhaps if you sold your imaginary Shelby Mustang, Nick, you could buy this yourself...

I doubt the Mustang would yield the cash required.

It would yield any amount of money you like. You don't own it, so you can just pretend.

  • I doubt it would make more than a few hundred pounds at a specialised auction.

Not sure what the ludicrous evaluation is based upon.

If you had Jaques Anquetil's original yellow jersey, then worn by Elvis Presley in a concert, before being donated to Prince Charles... it would probably only make a few thousands...

No, Prince Charles is too dull and is still alive. Had Diana worn it though...
With the added bonus DM types would have their minds blown. Di is great, but cyclists are evil.
  • I wonder what is the most expensive item ever sold on Ebay... surely if you have something worth in the hundreds of thousands you would give it to a suitable Auctioneer to make sure it reaches out to potential buyers

It sounds like the same one as last year: https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/prod ... 000-322202. Not sure if it's the same owner or not.
  • If you are not bothered about the tags and dark room storage, this one is a much more reasonable price.

It seems more like the kind of price this stuff should go at... I wonder if the other seller pressed a couple of zeroes too many by mistake

so the seller didn't really think the top was worth £150k? Blimey. Now thats a shocker. Well deduced.

Even £300 for that is about £275 overpriced.

When he released his original series of designs for jerseys/ bibs whenever it was with David Millar showcasing it, I thought the following.

How can one of my favourite clothing designers who knows so much about the sport, and has loads of collections of great cycling jerseys miss the mark so badly both in terms of cost and design.

Some rich idiots will buy this stuff for sure, but it was so ridiculously expensive and looked bland.

in all seriousness, the seller must be of his trolley if he can think he will get this price for it. Must be the most expenive sports top ever, and i mean ever. I think Geoff Hurst's worn and world cup winning jersey sold for about half this price and that is way more iconic. Mad, just mad.

I've just messaged the seller to ask if there was a mistake in the starting price, and he said No. Feel like asking him to justify the logic behind the price

Meanwhile, one of these is up for sale:
    https://hongkong.asiaxpat.com/classifie ... f-only-80/

A bargain at only 6900 quid or so. It would go nicely with the jersey...

I bought one of them jerseys a few months after they were released from a Paul Smith factory outlet, think I paid about £65. There was a rail full of them, wish I bought a few more! I did eventually sell it on eBay for £350 a couple of years ago.
