You don't need a jacket in summer.
For winter i use the dhb aeron full protection soft shell.
But it's too mild at the moment so I'll wear the hybrid jersey tomorrow. I don't believe there's one jacket that is year round.
Maybe just wear a lighter jacket with two or so layers beneath in winter.0 -
If your budget allows get the Castelli Alpha Jacket I wear it all winter with just one base layer underneath.
As said already you don't need a jacket for summer.0 -
I wear an orange Assos Sturmprinz from Autumn till Spring, does the job - just adjust the layers underneath according to the temperature.
Windproof, waterproof, breathable, visible.0 -
Gore Windstopper jackets are very good and the sizing is closer to normal clothes than the typical Italian sizing. I find I can use mine from below 0 into low double figures with some adjustment of base layers. It is reasonably waterproof, I never put a waterproof layer over the top as I find that I will generate more moisture than will ever penetrate a wet day.0

The alpha really is brilliant. The alpha jersey is perhaps a better bet for the op as it
has a wider temperature range.
This said, OP, i would look at the castelli gabba. Get the short sleeve and pair it with base layers and arm warmers and it will be suitable for pretty much any weather condition (apart from hot summer days, when u don't need a jacket).0 -
the best jacket for all year round is the King Edward. Toasty and comforting, especially on a cold winters day.0

Butter base layer?left the forum March 20230 -
+1 for the gore softshell jackets, i've got two, they perform very well in cooler temps. Can even unzip the sleeves on mine for when using in milder conditions0

No such thing as all year round jacket. I only wear the water proof jacket when it close to zero or below. Roubaix jackets up to about 10 degrees short sleeves and base lay till about 14 degrees and short sleeves after that or short sleeve and short sleeve base layer.
The question is flawed because everyone is different. Italians wear thick coats in the south of italy by the cost in march when its 18 degrees.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -

And they never go uphill until the Giro is on, in May.

I’m getting a lot of use out of one of these.
