Which chain is suitable for a 6 speed setup?
Sadly over the holiday period some ballwagon stole my main commuting bike :-( Thankfully my partners old man gave me his old racing bike, which is great, but I do need to do some updating/maintenance. Im fairly confident on most things but on one area am not and am hopeful for some advice. It is a fairly old bike with a 6 speed group set on it (the rear derailleur is a Shimano RD 1050) which is fine, but I need to replace the chain. Since this is an older setup, I am struggling to find a 6 speed chain with good reviews. Is it feasible to use an 8 or 9 speed chain with this kind of set up? As money is rather tight, I'd rather not have to go down the route of buying a new mech cage/derailleur.
Very grateful for any advice.

Yes, but not very good in my experience. I would get the slightly more upmarket HG71
