Bar tape

I am currently using lizard skin, that i have no real complains, other that it last for only 5000km, thats less than a year, and spending 25-30 euros just for that doesnt seems right to me. Do you have any suggestions for something equally comfortable but more durable and if its possible cheaper? i am always using gloves and 90% of my rides are on dry conditions.

I’m like you and used lizard skins for years but found this just as comfortable and more hard wearing:

PX, Deda or Cinelli, I had the later on the bike for about 9000 miles, only removed it because I changed the shifters, still had life in it.0

I use the fizik tape, the "light" stuff. Its tough and hardwearing, the only time i change it is when shreded in a crash (thankfully infrequent since i stopped riding crits with idiots and juniors) and when i feel i really out to change the outers. on my summer bike its done three seasons. i change it annually on my winter bike because i use it on the turbo and it takes on a character all of its own.
It cleans up really well too0 -
Lizard Skins are good for the summer bike and you don't wear gloves. If you do wear gloves, or its for a winter bike, I'd avoid as it does wear out with gloves use I've found.
Not sure if Supacaz suffers the same wear issue0 -
I've been using Zipp CX tape on my bikes for the last 3 or 4 years, its very grippy and lasts very well and its very comfy.0

The Boardman bar tape from Halfords is ok, usually €10.
I also got some Giant bar tape on my new build and it was quite cheap, €13, and seems even better quality.0 -

Have been using Cinelli bar tape for years. All sort of prices/colours to choose from too.

I went for that, on a 1st ride it just feels good, nice grip and comfortable.
