Majorca - Airport Transfer with bikes

We are back in Majorca this spring and taking our own bikes.

Is there any recommendations on airport transfers to Puerto Pollensa for two passengers with bike boxes? I have looked into hiring a car but it isn't working out any cheaper so I prefer not to have the hassle.

Thanks

A couple of lads who were with us last year caught the 340 Palma-Port Pollenca Express bus!
It only took a little longer than the traditional transfer and was something ridiculous like €15 each!!!No problems with the bikes either.
The only downside was they only run 06:00-22:00 so if your flights outside those times then it could mean long waits.
Seriously looking into it for next May as only being 2 of us instead of the usual 8-10 makes Transfer-shuttles quite expensive!
  • Unfortunately our flight doesn't land until 1am so the bus isn't an option. The out of hours pick up also made the hire car option more expensive.

I think we might encounter a similar problem as it looks like the cheap flights all land in the early hours so what we'd save getting the express bus we'd more than make up on a flight that arrives in the daytime :|

http://www.shuttledirect.com operate in Mallorca and their booking form includes the option to specify bikes as additional luggage. I have used them to book transfers next door in Menorca, no bikes though.

Since the original post, has anyone else used the red & yellow TiB buses with a bike box ?

I am thinking of using the A11 service to Paguera in october

we have in recent years only stayed at playa de plama . we get the public bus at the airport to outside the hotel, no problem and quicker and cheaper than other methods. I have not bussed to Paguera. If you have an early flight cycling is feasible. I have done that , about 2hrs , but luggage rack probably needed. I think Phillips bike team shop is near Paguera and you could hire good bikes for a week for not much more than taking your own.

they speak Austrian or German better than english , but I have chatted with them OK.
