SRAM sx5 shifter. Any upgrades worthwhile?

I just came off at slow speed going up a steep incline, the front wheel slid out. I fell slowly and didn't really hurt myself but somehow managed to snap the shifter clean off. It is a rear 9 speed shifter.

Am I best just to replace like for like? Or is there a worthy upgrade whilst I'm buying?

A replacement is £17.95 on Amazon

  • If it was working for you then just get the same again? It's a fairly cheap crash!

Yeah it worked, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that I could have a better smoother shifter etc.

I've just bought an "As new" one from ebay for a tenner, so hopefully that will do the trick

X7 or X9 will feel better than an X5 which is pretty basic, whether it’s worth the extra cost is down to personal choice.
