I do prefer the smoothness and momentum you seem to get and it's smoother with more momentum.
Feels like a pan flat road with a slight tailwind.

right - you've sold it to me.

if i do more than 5 hours on the turbo over the next month i'm buying one.

I did dent the kitchen sink cabinet, flatten a laundry rack and how I never broke my collar bone when I fell the 3rd time, I have no idea.
A T bar saved my house from further damage and reduced the palpitations Mrs Pinno was having every time I got on the thing.

    :D

Breakfast bar with wine rack atop is my best effort.
I think I reached for the water bottle with the wrong hand.

We used to have roller races at the club in the winter. I could ride the rollers just fine. With a burly bloke on either side keeping the bike in roughly one place. Much prefer the lack of danger from my turbo.
  • I have a kickr snap which I use in manual ERG mode which is smooth but not realistic as you say. I've heard the kurt kinetic road machine is quite realistic and rollers with t-bar as others have mentioned.

So, can anyone out there please recommend a decent Turbo that will provide smooth resistance and be as realistic as possible to being out on the road. I’m not interested in models that link up to computers etc as I’m not technically minded.
    Thanks.

I'd refer you to page 1, but you have to be careful with recommendations round these parts.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Half the fun of rollers is getting to learn how to ride/not fall off of them. You master that and then its changing gear, moving your hand position, taking a drink, grabbing a towel, switching screens on the computer, standing efforts. All great fun.
I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
