alot of the hubs these days allow you to swap the end caps for different axle types - so dont rule out the right wheels if they have the wrong type as they can sometimes be easily swapped. And hubs that allow this will be more future proof if you change bikes later.

How cheap is 'cheapish' to you? Malcom at the cycle clinic has come very reasonably priced wheels and most can be set to QR.

    Around £200
  • I have a set of 650b wheels I built for my Genesis Croix de fer. I’ve only used them a few times and they are in great condition with just a few cosmetic scratches. I’m selling to buy wheels for new bike with thru axle.

They are novatec 711/712 hubs, mavic xm419 32H rims and black aci spokes with brass nipples.

Will take £125 plus whatever it costs to post. I live in Cheshire if you want to collect.

This is a pic of the wheels on my croix de fer

Will it fit a sram Xd hub? As I’m running 1x 11
  • It’s currently fitted with a shimano freehub. You would need to obtain novatec Xd freehub. Cheapest I’ve seen these are from Evans Cycles. This fits 712 & 772 hubs.
