You mean a headset that uses ball bearings in an open bearing race?
I’m sure you can replace them but if it’s a standard headtube size I’m sure you could upgrade it with a sealed cartridge bearing headset.0 -

Take it to bits and have a look, who knows what's still stock.
I'm sure if it's been left out for a long time, pink is the least of your problems.I don't do smileys.

of course pink is leat my problems lol i still use it daily and the bike is stock nothinbg touched on this bike, so what stock headset/bearings
thats all i want to know, i dont want to take it apart for the bearings to drop out all over as i have stated still use it, so ofcourse pink is least my worries0 -
If the bearings are rusted it needs stripping and servicing pronto before it causes someone some harm. At the very least you need to drop the forks by an inch or so to have a look at them. Squirt some grease in there and see if that makes it more rideable. If they are rusted, don't bother and get the bike off the road til its sorted.

Have a look on youtube for a video of somebody removing the fork and servicing / replacing the headset, then have a go yourself. Bikes are simple things at heart.
If you can't find a vid of your exact bike, there will be something very similar.
If it's just loose bearings and the races aren't buggered it will cost you very little to fit new ball bearings and fresh grease.
If it's cartridge bearings you may be able to see some identifying marks / numbers on them0
