Hi,

I'm new in the world of mountain biking, and I'm pretty confused about what bike to choose.
My initial budget when I started looking at bikes was 775pound, and now I have narrowed it down to these bikes.

Cube Attention SL 2017 - Price 715pound
- https://www.cube.eu/en/2017/hardtail/at ... llow-2017/
- 3x10 Shimano XT, Rock Shox Recon Silver TK, Shimano BR-M315 Hydr. Disc Brake

Canyon Grand Canyon AL 4.0 - Price 811pound worth the extra?
- https://www.canyon.com/da/mtb/grand-can ... l-4-0.html
- 2x10 Shimano Deore Shadow Plus, Rockshox Recon RL, Shimano BR-M315 Hydr. Disc Brake

Cannondale Trail 3 - Price 775pound
- https://www.cannondale.com/en/Europe/Bi ... =undefined
- 2x11 Shimano SLX, RockShox Judy Silver TK, Shimano MT400 hydro disc.

SCO Rebel XT 29" (Danish Brand) - Price 600pound
- https://www.bilka.dk/fritid-skoenhed/cy ... /100291497
- 1x11 Shimano XT, RockShox Recon RL 100mm, Shimano Hydro disc(can't see specific model)

SCO Rebel XT 27.5" (Danish Brand) - Price 600pound
- Same as above, just 120mm fork instead.

What to choose?
What's the most important component for a good base to build and be better on, focus on the frame, gear group or fork?
Some say that you should not choose bike with 30mm stanchions?

My ideal goal with getting a mountain bike is to hit the local trails and also bike back and forth to the trails(6-10miles to 5 different single track trails) and back and forth to work when the weather is dry (2 miles :D )

  • thanks for you comment oxoman!

I think they will fall in the category of single track trails, riding up and down, berms and very small jumps and drops :)

Also going to use it for xc, with the family, exploring the country side.

It's only the SCO and Canyon bike which has 32mm stanchions.
