Rivets on 2009 Cr1 frame
Hi
I have a much loved Scott CR1 comp 2009. Last weekend whilst riding an attempt to change to the big ring resulted in a nasty crushing sound. Limping home on the small ring it was obvious that the rivets holding the front mech in place had given way.
My LBS were naturally reluctant to clamp the seat post to fit a new mech. Instead I now have a wide 11-32 at the back with a single 50 at the front.
Do I have any other options? It seems strange that it cannot just be re-riveted, there is nothing wrong with the frame as far as I can tell>
Thanks for any wisdom

Buy some pop rivets and a pop riveter.0

If it's carbon fibre there's lots of specialists that can worj wonders. Rob Hayles at Recarb for one.0

If the rivets have failed and you can remove the braze on clamping plate then you might be able to fit a band on to braze on converter. Like this

I've had rivets come out of a carbon frame in the past, Carbon Bike Technics repaired for a very reasonable price, repair was guaranteed and is still going strong 3 years later.

+ whatever they said^
If it's just the rivets that have failed and it hasn't damaged the seat tube then I imagine it could be riveted and bonded again to be just as strong as the original0
