Hey.
I've finally had enough with the noise coming from my borked front FD where the cage got an ankle into it during a smash, and looking to replace it now that I'm back to using it off roads and need the full triple range rather than just sitting in the big ring.
It's on a 2007 Kona Hoss, that was just advertised as 9 speed "Deore" - and I'm trying to find out exactly what it is so that I can replace it with something second hand.
Are old Shimano FD's marked with their part number anywhere? I can't find one on it at all, and I don't know if it's cos I'm blind, or it's worn off..
Ta!

Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Here is a link to all Shimano Technical Documents.
http://si.shimano.com/#/
It has access to all tech docs and they come in a variety of formats. User Manuals (UM)are the sort of multi-lingual thing that you get in the box that has minimal technical info, but loads on safety. The Dealer Manuals (DM) have everything, the Exploded Views (EV) are really useful for identifying if that is exactly what you want. And so on, there are loads of options.
Unfortunately what they don't have is "FDs used by 2007 Kona Hoss", so unless some other Forum Member comes to your aid, you are going to have to do some homework! :shock:0 -
Bikepedia isn't much use:

Can you publish a photo? We know it's 3x9 so just need to know how it's attached and whether it's top or bottom pull?
Possible options:

There's usually a part number hidden somewhere on Shimano road components, not sure about MTB.
Anything visible on the inside of the cage ie facing the bike?0
