I'm after a replacement rear tyre ideal for trail/muddy conditions with lots of grip.

I'm not sure what the maximum width tyre I can have on the back of this bike a calibre bossbut v2. Currently I have 2.2 Beeline series tyre which seems great but I would prefer a wider tyre.

I'm not sure if the frame would take a 2.4" or stretch it to 2.5" tyre.

How would I find this out?

If any affordable tyres are good for gripping could you please suggest.

Cheers

Mike

Get a ruler and measure the frame, Nobby Nics, Specialized Purgatory are both reasonably priced.

But don't cut it too fine, because wheels and frames flex under cornering load. The last thing you want is muddy tyres wearing holes in your frame!

And some tyres come up bigger than they should be so as above don’t go too tight

It has a recommended maximum tyre width of 2.35 so you have to be carefull.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"
  • 2.35 would be good.

I'll look at those tyres suggested.
    Thanks guys
