Has anyone done this before?
Thinking of doing the 100km with some mates.
Just wondered if it's worth the drive over to Belgium.
Opinions appreciated.
Thanks
David

Depends where you are driving from (in terms of distance) - but in general, pretty much any Belgian event is worth driving there for...
  • Agreed.

I did AGR last year and loved it.

Thanks. Will be travelling from London, so the drive won't be too bad. KBK appears to be a more low key event. TBH I'm just excited about the beer an frites afterwards ;-)

Do it - all the Belgian classic sportives are fabulous. I no longer do events in the UK as they are awful compared with the Belgian and French ones. For this one stay at the IBIS in Kortrijk, very bike friendly, dirt cheap, huge underground car park next door. It’s centrally located in a lovely town and great for lots of the early classics.

Huge and very expensive car park... over 20 Euro a day I seem to recall from a few years back.

I left mine from 3pm until 7am last year when doing Gent Wevelgem and it cost me a fiver so maybe there are cheaper night rates ? Dunno - in any event I don’t care what things cost when I’m in Belgium or France on an event.....they are an absolute pleasure !

Stayed in Kortrijk a couple of years ago for Gent-Wevelgem. Car park was cheap as chips (left car there from Friday to Sunday). Problem with Kortrijk is there was only one decent bar, which has since closed. Far too French in the town centre!
