Hmm. A post build challenge could get awkward, what with planning appeals system giving the option of a nah, is all ok result. Example. Up our road, bloke got planning permission to build onto his semi, you know the scenario of big plot of land, build another house on the side, turn it into a mini terrace. He then built a detached (by about a foot) house. Building control missed it, too busy giving us grief about the colour of our mortar on our extension. Went to planning appeal. Inspector said, yeah you're ok, don't have to rip it down, despite blatantly ignoring your planning conditions... So I'd say shop 'em early, shop 'em often.
It’s already virtually finished, only a week or so to go. Had a chat with their architect earlier and he was trying to placate us with different ways of making good, I’m not convinced. He doesn’t know why it’s been done and clearly wasn’t happy about it. Mentioned they wouldn’t pay for a proper building firm he recommended as this guy was cheaper. Later found out from the people the other side the bloke is very keen on cash deals and avoiding the tax man. Builder is dodgy as fook.
Push the button. Now. Before is too late. Once builders gone, done deal, council and planning inspectorate look to close down the issues. Good luck.

Was running around at lunch collecting all the new shiny bits for my bike, but still haven't started putting them on the bike.
Needed to see whether the cassette is salvageable but that means riding up some hills in the dark and wet.

I consider myself working class. Well, I did, until I saw Bromley.
Come on Bally, you can get balsamic vinegar in Staffordshire now. You no longer have to drive to Cheshire. And happy birthday for yesterday you old git.
Evening all. If you have an issue with your neighbours works get in early. The guy who had my current house had a bit of work done many years ago but it took my crazy neighbour ten years to complain to the council. By which time it had gone through conveyancing twice. The council man popped round, pulled a face and admitted there was nowt they could do, but he wasn’t happy. Oddly enough we get on much better with crazy neighbour, I think she is on better medication now.

Perhaps that's what VN and the neighbours need: 'better medication'. He hee.
