I've been looking for longer distance Cross races and keep coming back to more Sportive events. Are there any longer distance races suitable for Cross Bikes? I'm looking for actual races rather than non-competitive timed events. Or, are thay actually races?

CX is short duration, by definition. Apart from those mentioned above, you need to be looking at gravel races or similar..0

I did Gritfest earlier this year. From the people that do BOTB it's more of a gravel race I guess and more like an enduro than a full on race.
Two days of racing 90km and 40km but it's not all racing. There are 3 or 4 timed stages each day varying in distance. Only one was really like a cross race with the rest being mainly fire road. Brilliantly organised, camping with food and bar.0 -
A clubmate did this 3hour race recently http://my6.raceresult.com/100541/?lang=pl0

Not a race, but the Monster Miles is in two weeks, that’s a testing ride on a cross bike...allow four to five hours to complete the full route. Starts in Keswick, Cumbria.“Faster, Faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.” Hunter S Thompson0

Another one that's not a race, but the Ridgeway 100k at the start of August was a little punishing, but great fun.FCN 2-4.
