Hi , I have had two full knee replacements and found I'm unable to obtain a full circle peddling with my right knee. I'm aware of a crank fitting that would enable me to pedal in an elliptical profile. However I cannot find a supplier on the nett. Can anybody help me out by providing any source information. Incidentally I miss the freedom of cycling combined with the fitness element and would love to start cycling again. Regards Gareth

Bulkada cranks? I can't help but an interesting concept not something I've come across before.
Apologies if this sounds patronising but have you had no luck with a shorter crank which would trace a smaller circle and so reduce the required knee flexion? I seem to remember some good domestic TT rider a few years ago using very short custom cranks for performance reasons.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]0 -

I think you've misunderstood what the OP is getting at. He seems to be after a solution which alters the pedalling circle itself. Fitting oval chainrings won't do that.0 -

Ok I get it might not affect the flex on his knee joint at the the "dead spot" but according to what I've read it may make pedalling more efficient for someone with a knee problem who has trouble putting any power down when the pedal is in the 12 o'clock position. And if he has trouble sourcing an elliptical crank then it may be an alternative option worth trying.0 -
I appreciate this is 100% NOT what you asked for but I have seen a few people near me riding (using?!) these:

might be a way to kind of cycle without having to pedal in the traditional sense?www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0
