Hi
Have finally got my list for my first bike for 20 years down to 3 bikes I think for trying to get in to mountain biking
Once am confident enough would be wanting to take it up to Hadleigh mtb track

Just would like to know what bike out of the 3 is best for me picked these 3 as don’t want to spend anymore than £400

Gt aggressor expert £400 (local shop)
https://www.lescycles.com/product-page/ ... ntain-bike

Carrera Kraken £360 (cycle republic)

Btwin 540 Rockrider (decathlon) £350
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-5 ... 50454.html

Thanks in advance for any help

The Carrera, same as in your other thread. The GT is nasty. The Rockrider is OK, but the Carrera has better bits and a bit more travel.

    lp

    Why is that?

Whilst not BSO, 400 is at the bottom end.

Its like buying a pair of jeans. You can go to Primark and pay £15, they won't fit great, material will be so thin as to be almost transparent and they'll come apart after the 6th wash.

Or yoy can spend 50 on a pair of wrangler jeans, better quality all round a last far longer.

Of course you can spend 10x more on poncey designer jeans but without 10x the benefits of the wrangler s.

You won't be surprised to hear the same applies to bikes.

Some people have a budget. The Carrera is quite adequate for having a load of fun on. Many of us started off with much crappier bikes.

It's not a Primark bike. that would be an Apollo.

If you can stretch your budget a bit the VooDoo HooDoo is great value for money at £440.
If you join British Cycling you can get 10% off as well.
