Cheap CX Bike

I'm in the market for a cheap as chips, but half decent Cross bike. My budget is low, probably £400 but could stretch it a bit.

I know Im looking at bargain basement ebay special, but I reckon if I'm lucky I might get a 2nd hand Alu frame and maybe sneak in a 105 groupset... if I'm really lucky.

This will be my first foray into cyclocross hence the reason I don't want to have too much of an outlay. Just need a dog of a bike to thrash around and ideally be race worthy for this season.

What would you recommend? Maybe I could get a CAADX for this price, few years old? Any others I should be looking at?

2nd hand planet x. what are they new - £800 or so, so should pick one up around your budget.

If the above is no good, I'd be looking at a Boardman CX Team.
Very common on the CX circuit, capable, 1xgearing for simplicity, lots of mud clearance.
A quick scour of ebay shows there are some in your budget...

Thanks Jamin, but unfortunately I'll be looking for a bigger frame size, probably 56. I'll certainly check out the Merida.

Thanks for the ebay posts as well guys. I'm already watching the Cannondale, but that Boardman seems like a bargain. I'll keep an eye out for the Planet X too.
