Hi I've read that sram force 10 speed rear mechs are compatible with sram 11 speed shifters, is this right? Anyone have real world experience?

    Take a look at this bike;

    https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/ ... QYEALw_wcB

    Sold with "Apex 22 speed". Apex is 10 speed only, but they spec 11 speed shifters, cassette, chain etc. They work because Exact Actuation means the cable pull is dictated by the shifters not the mech.

    If it works well enough to spec on a new Boardman that suggests it's pretty rock solid and not some "close enough" bodge.

    SRAM are backwards compatible, one advantage over Shimano and Campagnolo. Any SRAM rear mech will work with a 22 speed shifter. I needed a WiFli rear derailleur for my winter trainer/turbo bike and why waste money on Rival/Force/Red 22 when an Apex rear derailleur will work. The only advantage of the others is weight.
    I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
