Question
Simply put this boils down to, what frame should I buy for the components which I will strip off one of my bikes ( Ultegra / hydraulic discs ) which is similar in geometry to my old Specialized Allez or Roubaix Elite?
Preferably Aluminium and under £600. I also have the option to pick up another Roubaix frame, including futureshock etc which is identical to my nice bike but this would be around £1000 and also Carbon.
General background
I currently have three road bikes. I have what I would class as my 'nice' bike I take out for long leisurely rides and my general use / commuting bike.
'Nice' bike
New commuting bike
Old commuting bike
I have recently upgraded my commuting bike with one I purchased second hand, mainly for slightly better components and disc breaks. I have no option of returning it, I have basically also sold my old commuting bike.
I also like to use my bikes for long fully loaded rides, I tend to use my commuting bike for this since I do not want to damage the carbon on my nicer bike with rubs, scratches and bumps.
Sadly my new commuting bike is a very aggressive racing position. I have bought a shorter stem, turned it around so it brings the handlebars closer and also got some raised handlebars. I have additionally brought the seat a little further forwards. Sadly I did 100 mile loaded ride last weekend and my hands were a bit numb and my neck aching which I wouldn't get on either of my other specialized bikes.
