Hi
I cant seem to decide on a frameset. I would like to know what people think of the two framesets and which would you go for.
I am looking to build my next bike and I am restricted to a budget of just under 2k ...
looking at max weight of about just under 9kg..
fast responsive bike
can take up 28 -30 mm tyre with full mudguards
Disc compatible
internal routing ...

I've just posted my Bowman in the Road Bikes forum... viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=13095395
I discounted the 4S based on how it looks and also the fact it doesn't take thru-axle disc wheels. It is slightly cheaper than the Bowman though.
My understanding is thru-axles are better at dealing with the braking forces and also make wheel alignment easier.0 -

Wow what a lovely bike and setup... I think I will pull a trigger on a bowman as well. ... definitely thru axle is a plus...
please roughly how much did your setup cost.. if you dont mind0 -

It went slightly over your budget purely because I opted for Campag. If I'd chosen the new Shimano 105 R7020 hydro disc groupset I think it would've been sub-2K.
This doesn't include rotors I believe but the best price I've found for new 105... https://www.vanillabikes.com/products/s ... pset-black0 -
I have gone for the Bowman disc ..Like the colour and fact that it comes with a thru axle...
I am trying to decide on disc wheelset
MASON X HUNT 4 SEASON DISC WHEELSET 27 DEEP | 24 WIDE | 1571G . Or
CERO ARD23 ALUMINIUM DISC CLINCHER . 1495G
Want something that is light, good for all weather riding , supports up 92kg0 -
For a little more money you can get some of these from a wheelbuilder that give you the option to have far better hubs than the ones on Hunt or Cero wheels:

I've heard that the Hope RS4 hubs make excellent all weather hubs and you can get them in snazzy colours.0 -
New 105 disc groupset . £649
Ultegra 8020 disc groupset £700
My initial preference was the 105 but seeing that I could get the Ultegra for £50 .. I think that is no brainer
will the Ultegra make any difference in terms of shifting and Weight ?0 -
Weight yes, shifting not so much - both are marginal differences.
The r7020 disc group price is slightly inflated right now due to the fact that it is only just arriving in stock at shops - I'd expect the price to drop perhaps £100 over the next month or two.0
