Zwift set up with iphone?

Hi all,
Apologies in advance if this has been done before but I am after some advice concerning Zwift set-up.
I have just bought a Wahoo Kickr and have a Zwift account. However, I'm sure my laptop is too old to run it properly.
Ideally I want to set-up in the garage and connect to a fairly standard TV with HDMI ports.
My questions:
Can I run Zwift from my iphone 6?
Can I mirror the phone to the TV? If so, what would be the best way to connect?
Will Zwift, on my phone, control the Wahoo Kickr trainer?
Thanks for any advice and thoughts given, much appreciated.

Works perfectly well on my iPhone 5s streaming to a Firestick. I'm using a Kurt Kinetic 1/2 smart trainer but the app connects to that and my Wahoo cadence no problem. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
I use an iPhone 6 with Zwift and a Kickr and it works perfectly. You can mirror to the TV using one of these https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/product/M ... r?fnode=85 together with a DVD cable. It allows you to charge your iPhone at the same time which is essential for longer rides.0

That's great, thank you very much for the replies.
Do you have any tips for setting up with the iphone 6? Is it straightforward? I assume the app via the phone controls the smart turbo trainer? Thanks again - I am somewhat out of touch with all of this!0 -
It's easy, you just login to Zwift through the phone and pair the trainer etc. I keep the phone handy on a stool by my front wheel so I can change direction. Zwift with a Kickr is great; being on a turbo really shouldn't be that much fun!0

Thanks max - what do you mean "change direction"?0 -
If you follow a course it will automatically select your turn at junctions but you can also do that yourself. Once you try Zwift it’s easy to get the hang of it. This website has everything you need to know https://zwiftinsider.com0

Although there are cheaper devices out there, I recommend buying the Apple product. As is the way with Apple, the regular updates do have a knack of shutting out none Apple hardware.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -

Absolutely this.
When I was trying to set up my trainer and link it to IPhone 6S and a big TV I had all sorts of problems. Zwift wasn't too bad but getting FulGaz to work was impossible.
I had conflicting advice regarding cables with some people adamant that generic cables would be fine and others saying only an Apple cable would work.
In the end I decided against spending £50 on Apple's cable and went the whole hog and got an Apple TV. Both Zwift and FulGaz work brilliantly and simply. I'm just hoping that Rouvy and otters go down the Apple TV route0 -

Depends whether you've got £50 spare or £150. My set up is in the garage so justifying an Apple TV 4K just for the garage is a no no and it doesn't do TrainerRoad or Sufferfest which I prefer over the video game.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -
Bundle up a load of stuff you don't want or need, blu ray, games, electronics etc. Then head over to CEX, trade in, and get an Apple TV 4. Check they have one before you get there etc.
Even if you do want to do "other things" this is worth it for Zwift (and Fulgaz) alone. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)
